Embroidery, Screen Printing and DTF in Mexico: Choosing a Decoration Method

Decoration changes how a garment looks, feels and costs. Here is a simple comparison of three common methods offered by Mexican workshops.

Embroidery

Stitched logos and designs, popular on polos, caps, jackets and uniforms. It looks premium and lasts, but very detailed or tiny artwork may not translate well. Send your logo in vector format.

Screen printing

Ink is pushed through a mesh, one color at a time. It is usually a good fit for larger runs with few colors. Each color needs its own screen, so artwork with many colors gets more complex.

DTF (direct to film)

The design is printed on a film and transferred with heat. It handles multi-color artwork and detail, and can work on different fabrics, which makes it practical for varied or smaller runs.

How to choose

  • Few colors, large run: screen printing.
  • Premium look on logos: embroidery.
  • Detailed, multi-color art or small runs: DTF.

Always ask for a test on your actual fabric and check washing durability before approving production.
